SSP-R9-Heather-Childhood Memory

There were lots of happy moments when I was younger, I'm sure... but with all the stress I've had lately its hard to think of them xD

One of the happiest memories I know of was going to my grandma's house for christmas.
We used to live closer to each other, so it was just a one or two hour drive away. (now its basically across the country)

But I always loved going to her big house. It's like a huge mansion, I have no idea how she can afford it all!
She'd always throw parties back then and invite almost the entire family over.
The 'party' room was a big living room with pretty lights and a small stage I would always dance on...
There was a fire place and candles on the shelves they would always light to keep the house warm along with the heater. A large piano sits to the side of the room, and its very beautiful and sounds really nice, its too bad I can't play.
The christmas tree would be off to the side of the long red coach (the picture I drew is a little shortened and inaccurate but its close enough to my memory xD )
The extent of presents was huge! It took up half the room! Everyone would gather around and talk and they had cocoa, or my cousins would play video games in the other room, people would help out and make dinner in the kitchen...
it was really fun.
Christmas would always be so nice.. mom would always dress me up in some cute christmasy outfit or something and I actually felt like santa's helper.
So when the time to open presents came, I would pass out everyone's presents and just pile mine up on the couch and let everyone open theirs then I can open mine last. I always liked to think I was an elf or something running out giving out presents and everyone acted as if I was a little elf and it was so cute to have them thank me for their presents.
Plus I wanted to rip up my presents at the end so we wouldn't have to take turns xD but they made me open a few in-between the "passing-out-presents".
The snow would fall lightly, but just enough to see the beautiful snow crystal formations plop and melt on the window...and make snow angels and snowmen! You could also hear the occasionally 'tink-plop-tink' of acorns falling on the roof too!
After around 10 or 11 at night, everyone would leave and there would be really cute christmas present bows scattered around everywhere and the fun wrapping paper was everywhere (we always cleaned up in the morning because we were all so tired)
I always like to put the bows on my head and ruffle around in the piles of wrapping paper.
Whenever I finally got up to my guest room, I would always look out the window through the backyard. Sometimes deer and raccoons would pop up to get a taste of my grandma's bird seed for the cardinals and finches.
The snow sky seemed to whisper to me, and the snow just gave me a really calm, tired feeling. And the warmth from the inside of the house made it all the more cozy. So I would fall asleep easily.

My grandma is a big role model to me.
She's strong, confident, and what she says is law!
She is a very big inspiration. She's a wonderful writer too, in fact, she met up with one of the presidents one time I thought... it was in a really old newspaper... she also took a train to listen to Martin Luther King Jr's speech. I believe she actually went there to the event live.
She writes all kinds of reviews for restaurants and their food, stores and their service, she donates a lot...
If she doesn't like something, she demands to see the owner and gets refunds or a better meal/service, and she gets it.
She's a total queen!

She reminds me of roses.
Her hair color in general is a dyed-orange-maroon-red, she always pinks and reddens up her cheeks and lips with make-up and becomes a sparkling star with jewelry..
She's a red rose.
Beautiful, stands out, and her thorns will poke you if you step out of line!
She always loves her family and does her best to take care of us.
I love her <3
